Maida, I am awed by your fresh perspective — thank you for doing this work to synthesize what is going on so far and imagining what is possible. At this moment in time, we cannot put our cameras down, we cannot abandon the public.

Congrats on launching and thanks for writing on this topic. I'm also interested in the permeable membrane between the non- and for- profit industry orgs. Looking forward to more!

Thanks for writing. Mission and market… I produced with and ran non profit theater in nyc for years. I do believe the essence of the non-profit should be the soul of a society’s collective art culture. It becomes tricky when the mark of a successful mission is success in the market. It’s a great challenge, let’s figure it out.

Looking forward to future pieces! I'm interested in that "permeable membrane" too, especially how it can sometimes manifest, when it comes to non-profits, in mission drift, elite capture and other behaviors that can cause non-profits to diverge from their founding principles.

Thanks, Scott! These are all meaty topics to be sure -- appreciate you surfacing them.
